WHS POLICY

 

 

 

This policy recognises that BG Enterprises (NSW) Pty Ltd (BGE) is responsible for the health and safety of all employees in the workplace. In fulfilling this responsibility BGE have a duty to provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risks to health. BGE is responsible and will be held accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant WH&S Legislation and Regulatory Authorities.

To meet the objectives of this policy, BGE is committed to regular discussions with employees to ensure that health and safety issues are regularly reviewed, audited when nessesary.  Health and safety is most effective when a joint management and employee approach is used to identify and solve problems. Management are also committed to the establishment and monitoring of WH&S objectives and targets.

Objectives:

  • Comply with the requirements of the WHS Act 2011 , Regulations, Codes of Practice and the relevant industry standards;
  • Confirms with AS/NZS 4801 for Audits and benefits of –A safer Work Place by identifying hazards, assess risks and put in place the appropriate controls. Reduces cost by fewer accidents, highlights training requirements, shows a clear commitment to safety of staff  which can contribute to more productive and efficient work force .   • Reduce the number of incident, accidents and near misses each quarter;
  • Reduce the number of Site Instructions (nonconformance reports) raised by clients;
  • Review the methodology for the identification of hazards, risk assessment and controls for adequacy annually or when a substantial hazard or risk has been identified or an accident/incident has occurred;
  • Make WHS an integral part of every managerial and supervisory position;
  • To ensure that WHS is considered in all planning and work activities;
  • Involve our employees in the decision making processes through a continuous program of regular communication, consulting and training;
  • Manage all potential danger in the workplace through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control; and
  • To ensure all incidents, accidents or near misses are investigated and the causes controlled.

 

This policy will be regularly reviewed in the light of changes to the workplace and changes in legislation.
